At Lime Tree Primary, each English teaching sequence follows a clear and purposeful journey:

Immersion → Analysing Model Texts → Skills Development → Writing Process (Planning → Drafting → Editing → Revising → Sharing)

We guide children through a clear and supportive writing process to help them become confident, successful writers. Each piece of writing begins with immersion in a high-quality text, where pupils explore ideas, language and structure through drawing, drama and discussion. They then learn and practise key skills before planning their own writing with a clear purpose and audience in mind. Children draft their work, focusing on getting their ideas down, before carefully editing and revising to improve vocabulary, punctuation and overall impact. Finally, they have opportunities to share their writing, celebrating their achievements. This step-by-step approach helps children understand that writing is a process, encouraging them to reflect, improve and take pride in their work.
