Bikeability is a cycle training programme that teaches children in Years 5 and 6 practical skills and gives them the understanding and expertise they need to ride their bikes on the road. It is a five day course and covers bike check, and control skills, starting off for the first morning in the school playground and then the children are taken out onto the local roads by fully qualified instructors.  Courses are run by the Kingston & Sutton Borough Sustainable Transport Team and the children are taught by a nationally accredited instructor who is DBS checked and first aid trained. 

Letters will be sent out to parents during the year, giving details. There is no charge for the course. 

Please note that the course is for children who can already cycle and have reasonable control skills - it is not for complete beginners.
